The Bayelsa State Government, through the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, has taken delivery of additional rivercrafts, marking another significant milestone in the Assured Prosperity Administration.
The Commissioner for Marine and Blue Economy, Dr. (Mrs.) Faith Izibenua Zibs-Godwin, announced this while speaking to newsmen in Yenagoa.
She noted that the acquisition is aimed at sustaining efforts to strengthen maritime transportation, advance tourism, improve marine logistics, and deepen the state’s Blue Economy Agenda.
Dr. (Mrs.) Zibs-Godwin added that the newly acquired assets comprise a range of vessels, including a cargo barge, cruise boats, passenger ferries, and water ambulances, among others. According to her, these additions will complement earlier batches of marine fleets already deployed by the Ministry, further enhancing its operational capacity across inland and coastal waterways.
While receiving the vessels at the Ministry’s jetty in Yenagoa, the Commissioner commended the State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, for his unwavering commitment to the development of a modern, safe, and efficient marine transportation system in the state.
