The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Gentle Emelah, recently received in audience the State Technical Partner on BayelsaPRIME, FJ Cava, Director, Partnership Schools, NewGlobe, during a courtesy visit to his office in Yenagoa.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Emelah stated that the engagement was aimed at strengthening the ongoing operations of the BayelsaPRIME programme, noting that discussions focused on the current status of the programme, the outcomes recorded so far, future objectives, and areas that would require joint efforts to achieve greater success.
He explained that the digital education system, BayelsaPRIME, has continued to provide the Government with real-time and accurate data on schools under the programme, including lesson delivery, student enrollment, teacher attendance, and overall classroom activities, which are now being effectively monitored through the initiative.
The Commissioner recalled that in 2025, the Minister of Education of the Central African Republic, Hon. Simplice Zingas, visited Bayelsa State to understudy the BayelsaPRIME innovation with the aim of replicating the system in his country, describing the development as a clear indication that Bayelsa State is becoming a model in education reform.
Dr. Emelah noted that the administration of His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, remains fully committed to improving educational outcomes, stressing that the State Government will continue to invest in policies and programmes that will enhance teaching, learning, and effective school management.
According to him, Bayelsa State is gradually emerging as a reference point in educational development across the country, adding that the government is determined to sustain the progress already recorded.
He commended Governor Douye Diri for his deliberate and consistent dedication to the advancement of education in the state, noting that the achievements recorded so far are a result of purposeful leadership and strategic partnership.
