The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has commissioned the 2.9-kilometre dualised New Yenagoa City Road One, linking the Airport Road, as part of the ongoing urban renewal programme of the Bayelsa State Government.
The project, executed under the leadership of the Bayelsa State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, is aimed at opening up the state capital, Yenagoa, improving traffic flow, and enhancing socio-economic activities within the metropolis.
President Tinubu performed the commissioning in the presence of notable dignitaries, including former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and his wife, Dame Patience Jonathan, alongside Governor Douye Diri and the Deputy Governor, Dr. Peter Akpe.
Also in attendance were Governors from other Niger Delta states, who joined Governor Diri in receiving the President, reflecting regional solidarity and shared commitment to development within the Niger Delta.
The newly commissioned dual carriageway is expected to significantly ease movement within Yenagoa, improve connectivity to key areas such as the Airport Road, and stimulate economic growth by attracting investments and boosting commercial activities.
The project stands as a testament to the Assured Prosperity Administration’s commitment to infrastructural development and urban transformation, positioning Bayelsa State as an emerging hub for growth and development in the Niger Delta region.
