Bayelsa State will tomorrow, Thursday, August 21, 2025, join the rest of the world to mark World Entrepreneurs Day with a special event featuring hundreds of beneficiaries of the Governor Douye Diri Skill Acquisition Scheme. The programme will provide a platform for graduands to showcase the innovations and successes they have recorded since completing their training.
In a statement issued in Yenagoa, the Technical Adviser to the Governor on Entrepreneurship Development, Mrs. Charity Kens Godwin, said the celebration will highlight the fact that entrepreneurs remain the backbone of Bayelsa’s economy. According to her, the occasion is designed not only to mark the global event but also to recognize the state’s growing community of young business owners who have benefitted from the Prosperity Administration’s empowerment initiatives.
The statement further explained that the event will celebrate the resilience, creativity, and impact of Bayelsa entrepreneurs on the state’s economic growth. It noted that the Governor Douye Diri-led administration has consistently demonstrated commitment to human capital development, stressing that entrepreneurship in the state has continued to thrive, thereby creating new opportunities for prosperity.
Highlighting the significance of the celebration, Mrs. Godwin remarked that the day will also serve as an opportunity to inspire other aspiring entrepreneurs while showcasing the success stories of the beneficiaries who have turned their skills into thriving ventures.
The event, scheduled to hold at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Yenagoa, will bring together visionaries, innovators, business leaders, and successful graduands of the Douye Diri Skill Acquisition Scheme.
