The Bayelsa State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, has Commissioned the magnificent Major F.G. Berezi Civic Centre at Kaiama, in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of the State.
In his remarks, Governor Diri charged youths of the community to avail themselves of the opportunity and work hard towards actualising their dreams, stressing that anybody can be whatever he or she wants in life.
He further said that while government embarks on major projects such as providing bridges, roads, schools, and hospitals, the private sector can equally in synergies with the government, provide smaller forms of development projects for the people.
He called on well-meaning Bayelsans to contribute to the development of their communities, no matter how small.
Also speaking, the donor the project, Engineer Preye Berezi, in partnership with the Preye Patrick Berezi Foundation, explained that the gesture was to honour his late father, Major F.G. Berezi, for the impact he had on his life, as well as for the love he expressed for the people of Kaiama.
Meanwhile, the Civic Centre is a one-thousand-square-metre building with a one-thousand-seater conference hall and four executive offices, including commercial stores.
