The Bayelsa State Government has called on healthcare programme partners, Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) and other state healthcare actors to deepen engagements and strengthen the execution of targeted interventions and investigations aimed at improving public health infrastructure in the state.
The Commissioner for Health, Professor Seiyefa Brisibe, made the call while reaffirming the state government’s commitment to advancing public health, enhancing life expectancy and ensuring equitable access to healthcare services across all communities in Bayelsa State.
Professor Brisibe stated this following a review meeting with visiting zonal partners and key health stakeholders of the Ministry, where she expressed appreciation for the assessment of ongoing health initiatives, including tuberculosis, HIV and other interventions.
The Commissioner emphasised the Ministry’s dedication to transparent reporting and rigorous performance tracking to ensure that investments in public health translate into tangible health improvements for all residents of Bayelsa State.
Professor Brisibe, while acknowledging progress made in documentation and official observations, highlighted the urgent need to address gaps in coverage, community outreach and screening efficiency across the state.
She stressed the importance of strengthening collaboration among healthcare programme partners, community-based organisations and relevant state healthcare actors to ensure that interventions reach the intended beneficiaries and produce measurable outcomes.
The Commissioner called for sustained engagement and coordinated efforts towards closing identified gaps and improving healthcare delivery across Bayelsa State.
