Oporoma Referral Hospital, Set For Commissioning.

‎The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Health, Professor Seiyefa Brisibe has announced that Oporoma referral hospital is ready for commissioning.
‎ The Commissioner stated this while briefing stakeholders on the State of the Facility at his office in Yenagoa.
He noted that the Oporoma Referral Hospital is one project the Ministry hold very dear to heart because riverine areas health emergencies overtime causes a lot of stress to the people and especially during disease outbreaks, which according to him will serve the purpose optimally.
‎The State Chief Health Officer stressed that a functional referral hospital system is not just about moving patients, it is about saving lives, reducing costs, and as a Ministry must continue to invest in strengthening referral pathways to ensure accessible, efficient, and quality healthcare for all.

He further explained that the Oporoma Referral Hospital was left unkept ‎and upon his assumption, the Ministry swung into action by the approval of the Governor and today the hospital is ready for commissioning in marking the activities and celebration of the 6th anniversary of the Prosperity Administration of Senator Douye Diri, the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State.
” ‎When referral systems function effectively, primary healthcare centers become more effective and trusted. Patients are more willing to use local facilities, knowing they can be referred when necessary which promotes early diagnosis, reduces self-medication and encourages community-based care”.
‎The Commissioner express the Ministry’s heartfelt appreciation to the State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri for his kind approval for the reconstruction of the referral hospital in Southern Ijaw local government area for the use of the people.
