The Bayelsa State Task Force on Anti-Theft and Vandalisation of Power Installations got a boost in its fight against Power Installations Vandalisation in Bayelsa State.
The Task Force got its bond of engagement, partnership expanded, strengthened, and tightened when the Task Force visited the management of Radio Bayelsa 97.1 on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 on a courtesy visit.
The Head of the Task Force and Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters III, CP Mary George (rtd) appealed for the station’s support in sensitizing the public through jingles and awareness campaigns.
CP George also called on Bayelsa residents to act as watch dogs and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
Responding, the General Manager, Radio Bayelsa, Mr Terence Ekiseh assured the Task Force of the station’s commitment to giving publicity to the Task Force’s programmes and activities.
Mr Ekiseh noted that drama skits could be put together and broadcast to pass the message to the public and emphasised that arrested vandals should have their names and crimes publicised to serve as deterrent to others.
