Bayelsa Mobilises For Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign; Trains Over 1000 Volunteers

Bayelsa State Government has trained not less than 1300 volunteers, for the sensitization of members of the public on the forthcoming Measles and Rubella diseases Vaccination Campaign in the state.
The one day training programme which was organised by the state Primary Healthcare Board incollaberation with the Nigeria Red Cross Society, Bayelsa State Office, took place at Jerry Century Event Centre in Yenagoa.
Addressing the participants, the Divisional Chairman, Nigeria Red Cross Society, Yenagoa, Mr Joseph Sambo, who is the supervisor of Ward 4, encouraged the volunteers to take the training seriously, which according to him, their efficiency and effectiveness on the field depends on the knowledge from the training.

Furthermore, participants were also taught on communication skills, data collection, security, information and crises management in events of hesitancy and many more.
Highlight of the programme was a group photograph jointly by volunteer participants, staffers from Bayelsa State Primary Healthcare Board, and Ministry of Health.
