Bayelsa Government Holds Transparency Briefing for The Months Of August and September 2025.
The Bayelsa State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to accountability and good governance in the utilization of the state’s resources.
The Commissioner for Information Orientation and Strategy Hon ( Mrs) Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai disclosed this while addressing the Press during the monthly transparency briefing for the months of August and September 2025, held at the Conference Hall of the Treasury Building in Yenagoa.
Hon (Mrs) Ebiuwou emphasized that the Diri-led administration places a high premium on transparency and accountability in the management of public funds.
“As a government, we believe that accountability is key and that transparency is essential in building trust and ensuring that our citizens are well-informed about how public resources are utilized,” she stated.
The Commissioner further noted that His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, remains resolute in his commitment to completing all ongoing projects across the state, aimed at improving infrastructure, boosting economic development, and enhancing the welfare of Bayelsans.
“Our administration will continue to uphold the principles of transparency and ensure that Bayelsans are always carried along in the governance process,” she added.
Some of the ongoing projects highlighted the Commissioner include, the Igbogene–AIT Ring Road, Glory Drive, Yenagoa–Oporoma Road, Ekeremor–Agge Road, Ogboibiri–Toru Orua Road, and Polaku–Sabagria Road, among others.
She also disclosed that government is advancing work on the nine-storey State Secretariat Complex and the FIFA-standard stadium, while expanding opportunities across key sectors such as education, the civil service, and healthcare.
On his part, the Technical Adviser to the Governor on Treasury and Accounts, Mr. Timipre Seipulo, gave a detailed breakdown of the state’s income and expenditure for the months of August and September 2025 vis-a-vis various recurrent and capital projects simultaneously ongoing across the state.
