2025 Batch B ,Stream 1 Prospective Corps members have been briefed on activities of the orientation course together with the expected roles of corps members during the course programme.
She welcomed and congratulated them on the successful completion of their courses that enabled them to be mobilized for national service.
She gave brief history of what led to establishment of National Youth Service Corps and pointed out the core values and objectives of the NYSC.
She listed the four cardinal programmes of the scheme but dwelled more on orientation course. She encouraged them to read all the publications given to them to enable them understand the operations of the scheme.She emphasized on Discipline and Inclusive administration and enjoined Prospective corps members to avoid actions and omissions that would put them into trouble.
The Prospective Corps members were further advised to be security conscious and report any unfamiliar face to appropriate authority.
The State Coordinator also encouraged them to visit camp clinic when ever they have health issues .She warned them to always adhere to appropriate .dress code at all times and also follow proper channel of communication.
She also emphasized that they should not grant press interview and avoid posting NYSC activities on social media. She challenged them to actively participate in Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development( SAED) due to its importance in the contemporary society.
She informed them that all services on camp are free and should not be deceived in paying for posting or relocation.
She also harped on a personal hygiene and general camp cleanliness.
She advised them to seek counsel from the Guidance and Counseling Officer when the need arises.
In attendance were Heads of Collaborating Agencies, NYSC Assistant Directors, Heads of Assignments, other Camp officials and Prospective corps members.
Highlight of event was the introduction of Principal Camp officials.
