The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), South-South Zone, Port Harcourt, has paid a courtesy visit to the Bayelsa State Emergency Management Agency (BYSEMA) to strengthen collaboration ahead of the impending flood season.
Led by the Head of Operations, Mr. Eric Ebhodeghe, the NEMA delegation visited the BYSEMA office at Secretariat Annex 3, Yenagoa, to discuss measures for preparedness, mitigation, response, sensitization, and the provision of essential supplies.
Mr. Ebhodeghe explained that Bayelsa State is listed among the high-risk states in the country for flooding, making the partnership between NEMA and BYSEMA crucial in addressing potential challenges.
Receiving the team, the Chairman of BYSEMA, Hon. Walamam S. Igrubia, expressed appreciation for the visit and assured NEMA of the state agency’s readiness to collaborate fully in order to minimize the impact of possible floods on communities across Bayelsa.
