~expresses joy over pace of work on Sabagreia-Polaku Bridge and Pavilion.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s Adviser on Domestic and Social Matters (2012-2015), Hon. Waripamo-owei Dudafa, has harped on the Bayelsa State Governor, Sen. Douye Diri, and the MD/CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Dr. Samuel Ogbuku for the impactful projects in Kolokuma-Opokuma Local Government Area.
Dr. Dudafa made the appraisal while speaking to newsmen when paid an on-the-spot visit to the ongoing Polaku-Sabagreia road-bridge project under construction by the Prosperity Government, and the 5,000 seater capacity pavilion under construction sponsored by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Expressing his satisfaction with the pace of work on both projects, the former Presidential Aide maintained that as at August 7th and now, significant progress has been made, with all pillars completed on the Polaku-Sabagreia Bridge.
His words: “I want to thank His Excellency the Governor for this mind-blowing projects that will impact greatly on not just Kolga people but on all those who will travel from the western flanks for easy access to the Niger Delta University and the State Airport.
“This project started less than two years ago and you can see the commitment from the Government and the company handling it that is geared towards timely completion this year, as the impact this roads and bridge will bring to our people are economically enormous” .
The Project Manager of Zerok Construction Nig. Ltd, Mr. Robert Kasis, assured that by the end of October this year, they hope to drive across the bridge.”We are very optimistic that after this 21-day segmentation which is the stage we are, we will start installing the main beams as every concrete work from piling to cement-capping is completed.
“You can see that all the concrete settings and fittings for this bridge are readily composed and molded, while waiting for the 21 days to stabilize the segmentation and quick move to the next stage by the middle of September.
“We can assure you that our target for October remains standing and the good news is that the most difficult part of the bridge construction is done, boosting our confidence “. Robert stated.
Hon. Dudafa, who is a former House of Assembly Member who represented Kolokuma-Opokuma Constituency II, in the Bayelsa State Assembly between 2003-2007, and his entourage also visited the site of the ongoing Pavilion at Sabagreia Town sponsored by the NDDC, where he also appreciated the level of work that is at the roofing stage. He equally thanked the NDDC Management under the MD/CEO Dr. Samuel Ogbuku for situating the project in Sabagreia and the commitment shown.
